Andrea Trzaskos

A gardener first, I came to pottery with a love for working with my hands in dirt and an appreciation for nature that my life in Vermont continues to inspire.  I can't claim to have embarked on my path through pottery with any clear direction in mind.  What has developed, instead, is continuing discovery of the themes and influences that shape and inspire me - nature and natural beauty, wind, water, movement, flight, stillness.

From the smallest of tiles to the largest of vases, all of my work is hand built.  I sculpt or carve each piece to create surface designs and texture, always drawing free-hand.  Most of my work is functional as well as decorative – including plates, platters and bowls that are intended to provide daily use as well as beauty.
