| John David Geery
is a full-time photographer residing in Vermont with his wife and two
daughters. He has avidly pursued the art and craft of photography since
getting his first camera in 1975. For the past seventeen years, he has concentrated on the Vermont landscape. The majority of his photos are done in the early morning hours, or late in the evening when the light creates the best mood. Consequently, his photos are loaded with emotional content, rather then being just reproductions of a setting. John got his first camera while working on a degree in journalism at he University of Utah. He was totally sidetracked by photography, and promptly gave up writing in favor of photography. He worked for a year in a professional color lab, and learned a great deal about color printing. He spent three years as a staff photographer, doing advertising and color work. John does all his own color darkroom work, which he feels is an important part of the art. The majority of his work is done with 35mm equipment, and always with a tripod. |
