colors!" are the words most often spoken by people seeing Suzanne
Lovejoy's weaving for the first time. Suzanne's
unsurpassed use of color and classic tailoring make her work perfect for
business and casual wear. Her customers call her "the queen of color" and
"the Rembrandt of weavers." Suzanne established her weaving business in 1989. She maintains the high quality of craftsmanship in her work by doing all the weaving herself and employing only one seamstress who tailors her yardage. Collected by a discriminating audience nationally, her work has been featured in the Best of Vermont issue of Vermont Magazine and Niche magazine. At a ceremony in Philadelphia, Suzanne received the prestigious 2005 Niche Award in the "Fiber-Handwoven" category. The Niche Awards program began in 1990 to recognize outstanding creative achievements of American craft artists. Her work has been featured in the Best of Vermont issue of Vermont magazine, Handwoven magazine and Shuttle Spindle and Dyepot magazine. Suzanne's studio/showroom is adjacent to her home in southern Vermont. Most days she is working at her loom, and you are welcome to visit. |
