     Stained Glass Lamps and Panels

I enjoy expressing myself through natural and interior light. My stained glass panels, lamps and firescreens become more than utilitarian as they release color and form into the spaces that we live in. Their colored lights add emotion to the atmosphere: golden warmth, soothing blues, or vibrant purples. They dramatize interior spaces by projecting onto existing floors and walls.

I carefully consider how the glass will look not only under bright light but also during the changes of morning, noon, evening and night. Varying textures, iridescence, wirework and jewels catch the light at many angles to create depth. My designs are not confined to traditional geometric shapes. Their unexpected angles and organic swirls move in and out of the frame, energizing the composition.

My glass studies began at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1993. Here I studied crafts, received my
B.F.A. and went on to two separate apprenticeships to refine my craft.  Six years ago I moved to Westminster, Vermont. I found myself inspired by the natural beauty. This is expressed in an ongoing series of abstractions of the distant hills slowly being carved away by
water, rich, lush summers and cold winter nights. There is also a series of close up studies of the local
fauna.
