Basket Weaving

I took several basket weaving classes from a local woman in the 90’s.  I am intrigued by the endless possibilities and the simplicity of creating something so beautiful and useful.   I find myself drawn to the more functional styles of baskets.  The baskets I create are free formed using reed.

I have created many custom pieces used in homes throughout the country. I have created baskets for theater productions and motion pictures.  I see color and movement around me as I travel the Vermont roads and see the pattern recreated in a basket.

Basket weaving is a long standing tradition, shared by cultures throughout the world.  I have had opportunities to learn from many other weavers and honor the talents of those weavers who have shared their passion with me.  They encourage me to share this with others.
